Walruses have long tusks, whiskers, and a thick layer of blubber that helps them survive in the cold Arctic waters. Walruses feed mainly on mollusks, such as clams and mussels, but they also eat fish, crabs, and sometimes seals. Walruses can weigh up to 3,300 lbs. (1,500 kg) and live for about 40 years in the wild. Unfortunately, their numbers are jeopardized by manmade disruptions and climate change, so conservation efforts are essential for their preservation. This is Gene's 9x12" original.
