Roadrunners are native to the deserts of the southwestern and south-central United States and Mexico. While they can fly, they typically walk with a quirky gait or run at speeds up to 17 mph to escape predators. Known for their incredible speed, roadrunners are among the few creatures that hunt rattlesnakes, a fact popularized by Warner Bros. cartoons. Measuring 20 to 24 inches from beak to tail, they have unique feet with two toes pointing forward and two backward. This 8x10 print, complemented by a handmade Cholla cactus skeleton frame crafted by artist Bill Radtke and framed to an overall size of about 11x12.5", adds a distinctive artistic charm to any space.
