About the Mexican Tulip Poppy:
Hunnemannia fumariifolia, known as the Mexican Tulip Poppy or Mexican Smoke Poppy, is a perennial plant native to the highlands of Mexico. A member of the poppy family, it produces large, crinkled flowers with silky petals and bright orange stamens, blooming from summer through fall. It thrives in sunny, dry conditions — perfectly at home in the Southwest — and attracts bees and butterflies throughout the season.
