Ravens, found across much of the Northern Hemisphere, typify large, intelligent birds with glossy black feathers and a wedge-shaped tail. Highly adaptable, they inhabit forests, mountains, and even cities. Known for complex social behavior and a vast array of vocalizations, they feed on insects, small mammals, carrion, and garbage.
Ravens are often confused with crows. Ravens and crows are two distinct but related species of birds. Ravens are significantly larger, with a larger wingspan and a thicker bill, while crows are smaller and have a more slender bill. Ravens also have a deeper, croaking call compared to the clearer caw of crows.
