In 1985, Arizona artist Gene Irvin turned his attention from wildlife to the ancient art of Native American clay pottery — and the result is one of the most distinctive pieces in his entire body of work. Three traditional vessels, each decorated with geometric and figurative designs in rich earth tones of brown, red, and black, rest on a bed of dried corn husks against a deep, dark background. It's a still life that feels both timeless and deeply rooted in the Southwest.
This is a limited edition Giclée print — one of only 50 reproductions ever made of this original oil painting. This is number 18.
