Flatbud Prickly Poppy (Argemone munita) is a native California wildflower that belongs to the poppy family. It has white, crinkly petals and a ring of yellow or orange stamens in the center. It grows on spiny stems and leaves that contain yellow sap. It can be found in various habitats, from deserts to mountains, and also in Baja California, Arizona and Nevada. It is also known as chicalote, which means "armed" in Spanish. This is Gene's 8x10" original. It has been framed with an oval mat. Overall size is 12.37x15.5".
