Cardinal

One of the most striking sights in a snowy landscape is a bright red cardinal perched on a branch. Gene's cardinal is no exception, as its vivid feathers contrast sharply with the cloudy sky in the background. They are also very popular birds, as they are the official state bird of seven US states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia. In addition, superstition says that cardinals are a sign of a loved one who has passed away. It is thought that when a cardinal is seen, it means that a deceased relative or friend is visiting or sending a message.
