Brown Pelican

The Brown Pelican, the smallest of the eight pelican species, may be small in size, but has an impressive wingspan of 7 to 8 feet, with a 4 foot length that includes the bill. To sustain itself, it requires 4 pounds of fish daily, with the ability to spot prey from 70 feet above the water. It also boasts an impressive capacity in its bill that exceeds its belly size.
