Dear Friends of Gene’s Pen and Ink,

Dear Friends of Gene’s Pen and Ink,

On Feb. 27, 2026, Gene flew west into the arms of Jesus.  Before he left us, he told us that he wanted everyone’s’ memory of him to be a happy one.  Gene lived a full life, one full of faith, family and friends. He had a profession he loved, served in the US Army for 30 years, loved aviation and music, and always chose to find the beauty in whatever he did.  Gene was fun to be around and made people laugh everywhere he went.

As all of you reading this know, Gene was given a unique talent— his ability to draw and paint. He shared his love of nature through his artistic ability.  When Gene was creating, his artist’s palate contained a range of colors unique to the way he saw the world.  The cumulative body of his work has had a unique impact on all of us. We thank all of you who have sent us pictures of his art in your homes and shared your happy memories of Gene and his art.

In honor of Gene and of his art ability, Gene’s Pen & Ink (genespenandink.com) will continue.  Gene was given an artistic gift, and his family believes it is our obligation to all of you to continue making his art available.  We will continue his website, will do a limited number of art shows, and will have his art in various gift shops, etc.  These will all be announced in future newsletters and other communiques. If you’d like to contact me, here is my e-mail address—gpiartwork34@gmail.com—I’d love to hear from you.

Sincerely, Linda Irvin, Gene’s wife
